Our student council Movie Night in term 2 takes place on Wednesday, February 7th, 2018.
The Student Council voted for the movie and Paddington. The screening will take place in the school hall on the big projector just like at the cinema! Children are welcome to bring snacks and there will be a tuck shop selling treats on the night too. Children are welcome to bring along siblings and friends. Tickets €5 (single) €10 (family) will be on sale outside the school every morning and afternoon. Tickets will also go on sale online. The proceeds of the movie night will go towards the purchase of a school greenhouse! The greenhouse will be a great addition to all classes giving them an opportunity to grow vegetables, fruit and herbs year round. So come along and support all the budding gardeners in our school! We are strongly encouraging good attendance and puntuality this term!
For more information on attendance click here For more information on punctuality click here We have loved reading our first Pete the Cat book called 'Pete the Cat Rocking in my school shoes'! In the book Pete explores the different areas in his school. Then Pete the Cat came to visit our school where he went exploring! Everyday we had to go and find him in a different part of the school. He got up to lots of fun things in Powerstown ETNS! Have a look at our pictures to see the places he visited. We had lots of fun baking rice krispie buns this week. We remembered tof wash our hands so that we could get stuck right in! First we used the list to check that we had everything we needed and then we followed the recipe step by step. We got to take some home to show our families and treated ourselves to some more during Golden time on Friday! The children having been loving our new gardening area. They have enjoyed lots of digging, planting and watering.
This week we were delighted to welcome back Billy, Alex and Rafael and to welcome some new faces, Sean, Rafita and Kacper to the Hawthorn Class. We are so excited to begin this new school year. Look at how much fun we are having already! |
