This week we have been reading the story The Three Little Pigs. We had great fun acting out the story with masks and props and doing some craft activities to illustrate the story!
Yesterday we took part in a music workshop with the Chestnut Class and the Oak Class. We got to try out lots of different instruments including drums, chimes, symbols and boomwhackers. We heard lots of silly sounds, quiet sounds and some really loud sounds! It was really fun!
We have been in our new class for one month now and we have been hard at work! We have learned lots of nursery rhymes including Humpty Dumpty, Itsy Bitsy Spider, Mary Had a Little Lamb and Row, Row, Row Your Boat. You can see you lovely craft work that is on display in our classroom below!
We have also been learning letter sounds using the Jolly Phonics Program. We have done s, a, t, i, p and n already. Each week we learn a new sound by reading a story about it, learning an action to go with the sound, learning a song to go with the sound and learning the shape of the letter. You can see pictures of us making letter shapes with playdough below! You can also find links to the Jolly Phonics songs in the Parents Corner section of this blog. |
